Atomic Kitten - Wolverhampton Civic Hall, 17 March 2002
Me and my cousin went to see Atomic Kitten just over a week ago at Wolverhampton Civic Hall. It was their last date on the first leg of the tour. We got their late actually, well not that late. Just in time for the support act, which was a bit boring to be honest. Anyway after that we had to wait about 45 minutes, so we went and bought a programme and some other stuff.
Anyway after having the likes of 'S club 7' and 'Blue' being played over and over again the light finally went out! Eveyone started screaming and their where loads of sparkly glittery things being waved about, which looked good. Then boom! The kittens appear wearing baggy pants in pastel colours and crop tops. They looked fab! 'Right Now' starts to play and the girls start singing away, and everyone just gets up for a good boogie! Then they sang the likes of 'Turn me on' 'Hippy' and 'Tomorrow and tonight'. Then 'Eternal Flame' everyone went mad when they sang that, and all the Moms that had come with their kids started singing along, it was wicked, its my fave Kitten song aswell becoz it reminds me of last summer, and they released it round about my birthday as well-yay, so it bought back some good memories. They got changed into some really nice out-fits thru-out the show, I reckon the white out-fits are the best! They look gorgeous in white. Then they sang 'You Are', Lil sang 'Strangers' and then 'Cradle' - which Tash sounds fantastic on! They rocked the house when they did 'kids in america' everyone seemed to love that! Then they go off, and everyone thinks its over, but then you realize that they haven't sang 'THAT SONG' yet! Then all of a sudden, they bounce back on stage (Lil slips over bless!) And then the band start playing 'Whole Again' and once again everyone goes mental and sings there hearts out at the chorus. Tash then gets this video camera out saying they're filiming for their new documentary and that that wanted to film us 'coz we'd been one of the best crowds. Everyone started waving at the camera and singing even louder to 'whole again'. After they finished you really do think its over, but Jen sas 'this really is our last song now' and you can't work out what song its gonna be because they've sang every song on the album.
Then they start singing 'Dancing in the street' and every single person got up, from lil kids to dads to grannies. And danced and sung away, you could tell everyone was just having the best time ever!(I no I was). Then the song finishes and nobody wanted to go, some lads start chanting 'We want more, we want more' but you realize it really is over! The kittens say their thank yous and goodbyes, you could tell they didn't want to go off stage either. Then its all over! It was one of the best concerts I've ever been too, I defo wanna go to their next tour.
