Romeo Must Die - The Movie
When viewed purely as an action film this film is very good, look beyond it too deeply and you'll be disappointed. The story seems to be a thin veil over what is essentially a good Kung Fu film, yet there are some good old fashioned comedy moments, usually involving the dim-witted Maurice (played by Anthony Anderson). The film is not without its flaws and imperfections and of course ‘those’ computer graphics, RMD is not a film to be taken too seriously, but at the end of the day "That's Entertainment!"
If you want some all out action with a few laughs sprinkled in and a damn cool Hip-Hop soundtrack (which this film most definitely has!) then Romeo Must Die is ideal for you. Deep and meaningful it certainly isn't, but that didn’t stop me enjoying it. A feisty, fun film that's worth a look. Not this year's greatest film, but certainly not this years worst either.
