Starring Michael Pitt, Lucas Haas and Asia Argento, 'Last Days' is an innovative and lyrical film about the inner turmoil that engulfs a brilliant, but troubled musician in the final hours of his life. 

Michael Pitt (The Dreamers, Hedwig and the Angry Inch), puts in an astonishing performance as Blake, an introspective artist whose success has left him in a lonely place. LAST DAYS follows Blake through a handful of hours he spends as a fugitive from his own life. 

Expanding on the elliptical style forged in his previous two films, Van Sant layers images and sounds to articulate an emotional landscape, creating a dynamic work about a soul in transition. Like its predecessors, 'Last Days' also grew out of events covered in the media.

Two members of the pioneering band Sonic Youth feature in the film; Kim Gordon takes on the roll as a record executive whilst Thurston Moore plays a music consultant. The group paved way for several underground groups, including Nirvana, who would become Sonic Youth's label-mates at Geffen.
