Q: How are things going for you at the moment?
A: They're going good actually. I've just finished doing the school's tour and stuff and they were really, really cool. We've also been doing PAs and stuff. It's been all go but it's all been very good.
Q: How was the school's tour?
A: That was really good. Really, really good. They were just so responsive. I remember pulling up at one school and they were chanting my name. It was really scary; it was like 'Alexia! Alexia!' It's really crazy.
Q: You've got a lot of support behind you. Just looking on your message boards you've got quite a fan base growing.
A: It's really nice though because I'm a new artist - no one really knows me. It's nice to getting support from all these kids and stuff. It's really nice.
Q: Your first single 'Ring' is out on Monday - can you tell us a bit about it?
A: It's basically about a girl telling a guy that before you come around give me a call because I might be chilling with my girls or chilling on my own. I might be spending time on my own or out shopping. Y'know just give me a call because I'm an independent girl. Everyone's always like 'Oh yeah another one of those all my independent women kind of things' but it's just telling the person, whoever it is, to give me call because I might be doing something. I'm an independent person.
Q: How are you feeling about the single's release?
A: It's scary. It's all happened so quickly and it's like 'oh my gosh it's next Monday' - scary, scary, scary!
Q: I was listening to the remixes last night - the remix with Jahzel is really cool.
A: Ja...Ja (stutters a bit) Ja Rule (laughs) - it's really not!! Yeah it's Jahzel. It's really good that one. I've never met him actually - it was done separately.
Q: The video shows you having a laugh with your mates - how was the shoot?
A: It was really good actually because everyone told me that it was hardwork and you're going to get tired and stuff. But you know when you get all excited over something you just kind of get on with it. The dance I learned literally in less than a few weeks. On the day we had rehearsals for the routine - it took two days to learn - the girls were really nice. They still come around with me and do television and stuff. They are so nice and we literally did have fun y'know and I think it portrays that in the video' |
