Natasha and Liz Look Back on The Year of the Kitten
J: Only two of you today? T: Jenny's not very well, she's got flu. I had it the other week and now Jenny's got it. Liz's had it as well. L: I had it when we went to the MTV awards. J: That's ok, two of you are better than none. L: Two out of three ain't bad.
J: Can you give us a little pre-amble of what you've been doing this week? T: This past week we haven't done as much as we'd like because Jenny's been sick. So we've had to pull a few things but we did do a gig in Minehead on Sunday with the Fat Cats. That was absolutely fantastic, it was a sell out and the audience was brilliant.
J: Who are the Fat Cats, for those who don't know? T: They are our band. But they're not fat, that's just their name. L: They think they are fat so they call themselves the Fat Cats.
J: And how did that gig go? L: It was absolutely choca. It was an arena sort of size. T: We hadn't done a live gig for so long that we all got a bit hyper, at one part I thought I was going to collapse, I could hardly breathe! I got a bit too carried away. L: It was so much fun
J: Next week you have the release of the 'So far so good' video documentary... T: Yes that is out on the 26th of this month. L: If you want to see Atomic Kitten looking 'rough as' on it, then buy it! L: It's totally behind the scenes, it's very funny to watch. T: There's footage that we can't even remember recording, it was that long ago. There's stuff with Kerry and the new line up with Jen. It's just basically us being ourselves, but what you don't see on the TV. The unglamorous side of it. L: I tell you what else is on it... The day we got signed. The day we got signed we ran out and bought loads of clothes really fast and we did a little film of it, of Atomic Kitten, this new girl band coming out of Liverpool and we had no make up on or anything. T: What it was, we had to make a little video for the record company so we said, we know, great idea, we'll all go on a ferry and jump around singing our songs with a Ghetto Blaster. Looking back now, how we did it, I don't know. People must have been sat on the ferry thinking who are these loonies!
J: Na you can you see all this on the video? L: Yes.
J: How far back does the video go? L: To the very beginning.
J: Which is? T: Spring 99.
